Materials for chip / shingle roofs

Shingles are thick and approximately one meter long chips torn with the help of slimes and other special tools. Since the production of shingles is quite labor-intensive, they are rarely made nowadays. Aspen wood is most often used for making chips.

In order to make high-quality chips, you need not only branchless wood, but you also need to cut it at the right moment – the wood should be neither too wet nor too dry.
